Company Car-Durable LSP-Not for faint of heart!!!

Hey guys,

I have a 06 Accord as a company car, Alabaster Silver. It's probably been one of the most reliable CC's that i've ever had.

I am in the construction industry and thus it gets dirty daily. Here's where all the true autopians will cringe: I take it through a local car wash close to 4 times a week to wash the dirt off. I have a unlimited pass at the local car wash, Mikes Car Wash (in Indiana) which does a great job and I think is quite gentle on the paint.

It has 40k miles and you'd never know it. The paint is in great shape as I keep it clean and hope that I am doing my part in protecting the clear coat as best as possible.

I recently clayed, polished with OPS and used Meguiars Gold Class wax on top. I have a PC with the edge pads (4).

What will be the most durable LSP that you could suggest that would survive the car wash as best as possible? How often would you guys reapply the LSP or repolish.

It isn't possible for me to hand wash it all the time, so I wont. Remember, it's a company car and I just like to keep it looking as good as possible, reasonably.

So, please help me with constructive advice (which will be greatly appreciated) and please no flames. If it were a car that I paid for and kept on road all the time, I'd certainly treat it differently.

Thanks and have a great night!!!

Since carwashes often use very harsh and aggressive shampoos, I'd suggest something like Collinite.

Honestly, I would highly suggest a zaino system for 2 reasons.

A.) Excellent durability

B.) Self Cleaning

Even though it will be pulled through the car wash all the time, you can still expect excellent durability. Because it is a comany car, an easy approach would be ZAIO then CS. I have over 6 months on my dads truck that was driven through the tough minnesota winter. If it can handle a minnesota winter, I would easily put it against a car wash. :)

Other folks who use zaino will tell you that even though you drive your car through a rain storm, it still remains quite clean compared to other products. In short, you car will take a little bit longer to get dirty (within reason of course!) :lol

Oh yeah, if you need a third reason:

C.) It looks great :2thumbs:

What he said.... Collinite. I would suggest a couple good layers of Meguiars #21 in a close second. Heck... use both. Seal with #21 then add a layer or two of Collinite.

My suggestion would be a couple of layers of Duragloss 105 topped with a layer of collinite.

I use this combination on the top of my wifes SUV, because I hate doing the top of SUV's.

Last done in January and is still holding up great.

If I were going to pick just one product, I would go with Collinite 476S, it looks suprisingly good and the durability is outstanding.

I have my cars outside in the ohio weather and Collinite 845 does a great job of protecting them. I put on 2 layers a week apart and I can manage to go 6 months before needing to re-apply. This stuff will last a long time because YOU NEED TO APPLY A THIN COAT. My cars went through the winter just fine even going through a carwash (oh, the heresy). Good luck with your choice.

Collinite 845. It beads AND stays slick for at least 6 mos for me. Goes on and off super easy. It however has no cleaners in it, something you may want for a company car.

IMO, pick any one of the products listed above (all have good durability on their own), then consider Polycharging it. Resistance to detergents was one of the properties that DavidB and his mad scientist engineered into the Polycharger polymers. Sounds like just the thing for a car that's going to see lots of tunnel washes.

I'd say Klasse AIO follow by multiple coats of Klasse High gloss sealant Glaze. A acrylic is the solution.

Zaino, Duragloss 105, Collinite 845 IW, Werkstatt Acrylic, or Klasse AIO + 2 coats of Klasse SG would all fit the bill nicely.

Collinite 845 is the only one that would hide marring - but that doesn't sound like a factor with regards to your Honda Accord CC.

Your car would be a perfect candidate for Matrix Micro Coatings. After it is applied, paint becomes very much more scratch resistant, and cleaning chemicals will no longer be necessary when washing your car, simply rinse off with water and dry with a microfiber towel. This is really helpful for us since we wash our fleet of loaner cars every morning, and only takes about 5 minutes each. We sell many coatings through our shop every week, and I will personally guarantee that there is no better paint sealant. PERIOD. It also carries a lifetime warranty. Since you're cleaning your car so often you're wasting your time buying an oil/water emulsion, polymer sealant or an organic wax, because with frequent washings the detergents, and grease fighting action of car cleaners will gradually wear off protective coating.

Werkstatt has outstanding durability and looks killer on silver. I believe that Opti-Seal will also be pretty durable but I haven't had it long enough yet to independently verify it. Holding up at the nearly 2 month point on customer's cars though and we've had a very rainy spring.

We put some JW on a fellow Autopian's silver truck and it looks outstanding.

Did someone mention Werkstatt on silver?

The RAV4 was fully detailed for the 1st time 2 weekends ago.

ONR wash with claying (Werkstatt clay)

JW Prime

JW AJT

JW Acrylic Glos

Last week it received a ONR based QW.

Today I used JW Quick Wash (with some spot claying using ONR QW as lube), followed by JW Acrylic Glos. I like the JW line alot too. Unfortunately the hour the car sat outside after detailing this evening gave it a nice coat of pollen and tree sap:furious: . I'll have to reclay it next time I get a chance:angry .

I'm a noob here and don't have much time to do great details, so I'm reluctant to post much. I don't own a particular sexy car either (however the RAV4 V6 sporting 270hp and low sixes for 0-60 will surprise some folks :secret)

Cheers,
