ColorX Application/Usage

I've been looking around for a good cleaner wax to go with my newly bought Collinite 476S, and I decided to buy Meguiars ColorX. Got it pretty cheap at Amazon for $7.00 including shipping, so I was pretty happy :)

Okay, so this morning I decided to try it out. I'm a bit confused regarding the application method of ColorX. I applied the ColorX thinly (I have practice from using Collinite:)) using a foam applicator. At first, I saw the haze left by the ColorX, but soon, the haze seemed to just vanish. Is this normal? Somebody had said that ColorX is similar to Klasse AIO in terms of removing oxidation, and that Klasse AIO also can barely be seen when applied. Is this the case for ColorX too? I'm just worried that I didn't put enough ColorX on.

Also, regarding the usage of ColorX: Should I work the product in aggresively like ScratchX, or should I just apply it like a wax and just ensure even coverage of paint?

Thanks, as always, for the help :)

I would apply it (or any cleaner or cleaner/wax) with something having some bite. I'd use a microfiber or terry applicator.

It depends on how much cleaning you want to accomplish. If the surface contamination and/or defects are minimal you don't need to work it too aggressively. If you're trying to remove oxidation or swirls you'll need to work it hard and maybe multiple applications.

Either way you want to end up with a very thin even coating, just like any other wax.

PC.

I use my propel green pads on my pc with it and have great results so I'm with the guys who say a little bite by hand would work out well

Thanks for the replies!

imacanut, I also saw that thread before, I just couldn't find it, Thanks for posting it :)

All my questions have been answered except one: I'm still not sure as to whether or not the ColorX haze is supposed to disappear on the paint surface. Am I applying it too thin?
