I had notice no one had been using or saying anything about this great product, who been around many years. A great product to use on any DD in the winter. Anyone still reaching for a bottle of Collinite when a customer wants a treatment for the winter months?
 
Old Pirate- I was a huge fan for decades, still have nmany tins of 476S. But I finally decided that I`d rather sacrifice lose a bit in the looks dept. in favor of greater durability and protection. I am still using 845 on the underneath of the `93 Audi though, and for any conventional LSP user who wants a "wax rather than sealant"-type look (476S or 915) or a decently durable liquid that`s genuinely idiot-proof (845), IMO the offerings from Collinite are still a good choice.
 
Great to hear your still using it Accumulator, these products a saving for detailer`s who want to offer a low cost detail on their customers cars.
 
Old Pirate- Glad my post didn`t come across as anti-Collinite, I understand that I sometimes sound that way what with my FK1000P fanboyism.

Yeah, for the money it`s simply great. People can be waxing for years for next to nothing, well at least if they`d quit using so much too much of it...pretty amazing how little it takes per coat.
 
915 might still be my favorite wax. Not the easiest wax to use, but the look and protection are really hard to beat, low cost or not.

I`ve only tried 845, how does 915 differ in application/durability ? Just wondering if it`d be worth eventually adding it to my stock. I`m not big on accumulating/purchasing multiple waxes, since I`m the kind of person that finds something he likes and sticks with it . The spray-on products have been the only thing where I`ve bought multiple , because I was trying to narrow down my selections.
 
I use 915 on my cars from time to time and really love it. It`s in my wax rotation for sure.

Prolly the best of all worlds wax of all time... Looks/Price/Ease of Use/Durability

I don`t get why some people say 915 is hard to use. Maybe they have changed the formula at one point?

Given that 915 or 476 applied by machine is no more difficult than 845, I find my bottle of 845 working its way to the back of the shelf.
Nothing wrong with 845, but the added longevity with the same effort and lower cost makes the decision to go with one of the pasts a no-brainer.

Serious question ,where did you find 915 for less than 845? 845 is less than $20 and 915 is around $30 , what lower cost are you referring to?

Also, what longevity are you folks experiencing with the 915? I`ve gotten 6 months out of 845 in the past.
 
Just to chime in , I had never used Collinite or heard of it till I joined this site. I did my Black Toyota truck with HD Speed and topped with Collinite 845. I`m hooked. It is now my go to wax. I have not tried any of there other products but if they are on par with 845 they must be great also
 
Love the 845. Just put it on a BMW335 for the winter. Love this stuff and have used it off and on for years. I want to try there cleaner polish and there metal polish

845 is easily applied by machine and then buffs off super easy. Even by hand 845 comes off easy as long as it`s thin. 915 can be a bit more finicky. I usually apply to 2 panels at a time, then buff off. If it sits for more than a couple can be stubborn. Someone I talked to here used it as a straight wipe on and immediately buff off.

915 is at least as durable as 845. 915 is great for darker colored cars, really enriches the color.

When I talk ease of use, Fuzion defines easy to use- comes off without any effort at all.
 
Collinite reformulated all their LSPs due to the VOC regulations, took `em a while to come up with new versions that they were happy with. I`ve only used the Post-VOC 845 (still have lots of Pre_VOC 476S) and it`s not bad at all, right off-hand I can`t think of any significant diffs though it almost certainly won`t have the same unlimited shelf-life that the older stuff did.

IMO the 845 is a "brighter, more reflective, not as deep" LSP compared to the 476S. I`ve never used 915 but it oughta give more depth and look better on dark/rich colors.

FWIW, the guys at Collinite were using 476S on their own cars the last time I talked with them.

IME 476S is considerably more durable than 845, but still not enough so for me to use it on wheels these days (did for ages though). And the looks-diff *is* something that I can see on paints I`m familiar with.

I`ve never found 476S hard to use, but it`s not a trim-friendly as 845 by a long shot. I`ve used 476S on trim but, uhm...."Don`t try this at home, kids!" probably oughta apply as it could really bite ya.

It`s not all about the initial cost. Paste wax being denser, spreads further than liquid, using a lower volume of product. I use a 4" pad on my polisher so the pad will fit inside the can. Place the can against the pad, give it a couple quarter-turn twists and you`re good for half a panel or more. Collinite`s site says a bottle of 845 does 6-12 clean midsize cars, vs a tin of 915 doing 12-20 midsize cars. I`ve emptied a bottle of 845, but haven`t yet finished my tins of 915 or 476 that I`ve had for about 5 years.
As far as longevity, I can`t comment in terms that would be relevant to you in Texas. I live in PA and have a black DD that sits outside 24/7. I do my winter preps in November and I`m happy if I can get to April or May. Once spring comes, I play around with a bunch of the other waxes on my shelves.

Heh heh, I get a *LOT* more Suburban-size vehicles out of a bottle/tin than that! Like...gee, so many more that their estimate sounds silly to me (but I guess they want to sell product :D). Even back when I was Colliniting stuff all the time a bottle/tin would last for years. IMO people generally use way more LSP than they really need to.

I had a tin last me 5 yrs till I had to go the far east ( Military )
 
Ive put 915 on my car at least 10x`s and you can barely tell Ived used it at all when looking at the wax in the tin.
