collinite 845 questions

it works really well on less grainy plastic trim. i put it on my side view mirrors on my truck and it has held up for many weeks. i think you gott just make sure not to leave it on too long before removing. on other more grainy plastics it is as bad as products you dont want on the trim and stains it.

put the bottle in a cup of hot water and keep ilreturning it in there as u use it. it keeps the product thin and easy to work with.

also, put a flip top cap on it. the kind with a small spout on the end. the spout gets clogged when cold but once you soak it in the hot water upside down the plug clears out easily.

Collinite 845, the Superman of waxes!! :bigups

  • It will not "normally" stain trim.
  • Because it's very important to apply it thin I've found that applying with a dual action polisher using a blue or red foam pad.
  • There is no curing time typically associated with a sealant.
  • If it becomes thick, place the bottle in hot water for a few minutes then shake until it becomes creamy.

For everything you ever wanted to know about using Colonite 845 go over to AG and have a look. There is the definitive thread to using 845 over there.

I normally run warm water over my 845, and within a few minutes it's ready to go. The first time I used 845 I was amazed at how easy it was to spread over the paint. It's definitely one of my favorites and the cost doesn't hurt either.
