Collinite 845 on clear coated factory wheels?

Just wondering has anyone ever used Collinite 845 on clear coated factory wheels? or is their a better product to protect the wheels and help with brake dust clean up?

I'd say the #845 would be a good choice unless you wish to take that next step and consider a "permanent" product like OptiCoat.

I would say 845 is as good of a protectant as any when it comes to waxing you wheels. Other waxes and sealants options may be a touch more durable, but when referring to the wheels, you'll be reapplying more frequently as it is. Unless you do take that step to permanently coat your wheels. If my OEM wheels weren't already pitting and cruddy looking I would have coated them when they looked new.

Since I have the 845 on hand I figured I would give it a try as I heard you could use it on wheels. If after trying the 845 could I still use a sealant like OptiCoat in the future? is any prep work needed before making the switch?

Yes, you would have to strip the 845 and ensure the wheels are in the best condition as possible. The coating needs to be applied to bare surfaces, which is one free of waxes/silicones/etc. And whatever stains/swirls are on the wheels will remain under the coating, so make sure they look in the best condition as possible because when you coat them, they will stay that way.

845 will work great, but if you have brake dust issues, AA brake dust repellant works very well, and you can get rid of the whole problem by going to Akebono brake pads. I'm so glad I have my brake dust problems resolved.

I am sorry I am not familiar with AA Brake Dust Repellant...were is this item found? Could this be used on top of the Collinite or does it have to be applied directly to the wheel itself? what kind of prep work is required before applying this product?
