Coating win

So first off, please forgive my absolutely FILTHY daily driver. Never have time to properly care for it. I wanted to share this observation though.

Long story short I let the dealer wash my car. Big mistake. Here`s the thing though. The front clip (bumper hood and fenders) was coated with exo V2 last fall. I`ll let the pictures do the talking but I think this says a lot for a coatings scratch/mar resistance.

Take this for what it`s worth, just wanted to share my observations.

I do plan to clean this mess up and coat it with CSL before winter. It`s a mess :(

nice...
make sure to top the CSL with EXO (can top 1 hr after applying CSL) for that extra holy $h!t factor!

Do you happen to know how they wash? I ask because I`ve seen some use the mop looking thing on some panels and not all. Some just run down some panels and put it through the brush or brushless machine then.

The Engineer in me like to know how well controlled was this experiment, was the car fully corrected prior to executing "dealermatic_swirltron5000 /w marring-nator1000 paint decoration installation" test?

I wish you had some before and after photos so it is a little easier to see just how much the dealer did vs average wear and tear over the course of time. I only say this because I`ve rarely seen a case so sever, while I`ve seen terrible and bad, but.. really.. never seen it look like someone wrapped themselves in a sticky body suit, took a swim on the sandy beaches of Florida and then made love with your door... then took a nap on your roof.... lol maybe I am over exaggerating...

Yeah a little bit. Honestly...I never wash the car, so there was really not any swirling or marring at all. I was in shock as to how much damage they did. The condition of the paint on the hood and fender was a good representation of the entire car. And its pretty clear how the coated panels were unharmed, and the uncoated panels were beat up

Yeah, it does speak volumes for coatings which I love as well.

I definitely believe you about how the car was before, but I think if there was a before and after it would be epic, and a good case to get the dealer to "pay" for a detail out of their dealership. (I`ve gotten some dealers to agree to pay for a full detail to correct their "work" when I clearly said to not touch my car outside of the oil change), because I tend to take photos of my car before going to a dealer. lol

I completely agree. After washing my old Sable about 1,000,000 times, the finish was still swirl free. At thanksgiving dinner, I`m going to give thanks to coatings :)

I never put a swirl on the PBL v1 on my frontier and it was on there for 26 months or so until I got tired of it and wanted to play with more products

Actually now they say you don`t need to wait. I think the wait time was a carry over from the C1/EXO problems. I guess they are coming out with EXOv3 now. It`s supposed to be more user friendly and a 3 year life. I`ve always been an EXO fan and topped C1 with it as well as CSL. There is an interesting thread going on AG you might be interested in. I`ll post the link in a sec

January 27, 2017 can`t come soon enough. I was going to do CSL/EXO V2 but I am going to hold out until V3 is out.
