CMA... Do they have a print catalog?

A neighbor of mine (after admiring my Cobra) knocked on my door and asked, "What in the heck do you do to your car to keep it looking so darn good?!" I took him to my little dungeon of detailing delight and showed him a few products and things of that nature as well as discussed a few things about what I do for a process. He then proceeded to tell me that he is restoring an older car and re-painting it black (same color as my car). He wanted to know a few things that he could order and then learn about to make his car look as good as mine. He was particularly interested in the Klasse twins and a few other products.

Now here's the catch. HE DOESN'T HAVE INTERNET ACCESS!! :o

I was going to give him the CMA number and have him order a printed version of their catalog, but do they even make such a thing? I'm going to call him today to tell him CMA's number anyways, but what do you suggest I tell him to do so he can start learning?? I am going to teach him a few things next weekend, but I think he is interested in learning more about typical detailing processes/etc himself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot ladies and gents.

Long ago they used to, doubt they do now :(

I do believe autogeek.net occasionaly still does.

Note to vendors: we really appreciate catalogs, consider printing some occasionally :xyxthumbs

A print catalog is always a nice thing. I can't tell you how many times i've picked up griots or meguiars over the years and find stuff I swear I never noticed and end up buying. Plus it can get old and tireing going through a whole website. Esp. when you are really just browsing. Most of the time you go for just something specific and don't look for other things. And you can ALWAYS use other things.

I remember getting a CMA catalog about two years ago. Seems like I get a Griots catalog every other month.

I thought I had received a print catalog within the past 12 months from them. It was quite lengthy, IIRC.

What about printing out the autopia ebook for him?

Heh. Actually, that is the exact solution I came to. I just finished printing it (175 pages... time for a new cartridge :'(). I am going to give it to him tomorrow. He'll have plenty of time to read it before we start in on his beater for testing/learning purposes on Saturday. I also gave him CMA's phone number as the people there are usually MUCH MORE than helpful.

Thanks guys :D

The only other detailing vendor catalogs I can think of are Megs, Detail King, Right Look and Kleen-Rite. You have to go to their websites to request them. I have other catalogs but they are mfr catalog not vendor catalogs.

Hi Sean,

We no longer publish a catalog. Our web site www.properautocare.com contains all of our products. We add new products to our site daily. There was no way I could keep a catalog current. By the time it was ready to publish, it was obsolete.

I was also running into a time problem. As the head guy who writes all the copy, the newsletter, attends trade shows and looks for new, neat "stuff", something had to give and that was the catalog.

I understand the dilemma but I have to say I loathe reading on the internet. I just don't feel comfortable or relaxed staring at a screen. But when I have a paper copy of something, I can sit back and read 'till the cows come home.

Yea, I hate it, I usually print out everything and read it on the couch

Heh, I'm the exact opposite. I can read all day long on the computer, but I've gotten so that I hate printed catalogs.

They just clutter up my apartment and go out of date too quickly. I can go look up stuff online and find the latest offerings and prices. I can look at a couple websites on one screen to compare prices, or check manuf websites to see more info on a product.
