ClearBra question!

Hey,

I recently had a clearbra installed on my G35 and was wondering if that will have any effect on the wash/clay/polish/wax process? I know it states you can apply wax and stuff to it, but will it still flow seamlessly with the rest of the car? By seamless I mean have the same wet/shiny look that the rest of my detailed car should have.

Thanks! :spot

I wax over my clearbra, which I have on my hood, headlights, and fenders, and it looks just as shiney as the paint does. I've even used Meg's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner on it with no ill effects. When you get all the crap off the edge where it ends, you can't really tell it's on there if you do a good job.

Do not clay your clear bra, and don't use any abrasive products either. Use chemical cleaners like klasse aio or even the deep crystal previously mentioned and follow with whatever wax or sealant you want. I've heard of people using plexus too but i have not felt the need to do that.

Im about to have the 3m installed on my white civic, so it is ok to put AIO on it? What about SG on top of that? THanks

Dave

I don't think AIO should be a problem, especially because Klasses states its ok to use on all hard surfaces, including plastic. In fact, I'd think its a really good idea, because I've heard of clear bras turning slightly yellow a few years down the road. It's a good idea to give the plastic some additional protection from UV rays and the other elements.

Yep, Klasse AIO is awesome for it.

edit: SG is great too. Pretty much anything non-abrasive. AIO is a chemical cleaner so it works nice, and SG is just a sealant.

AIO, Werkstatt Prime, all work good on clear bras. Do not polish or use clay on it. You can top off the bra with your favorite LSP to protect it.

I have used Prime Strong on mine 2x now, and I haven't seen any ill effects. I don't press too hard or go over it too long with the PC though, just kind of a lighter touch up. It seems to help bring back the clearness of it.

Oh, and I also use AJT and whatever wax I'm using over it too.
