Clear Spray Guard - who, what, where ??

Hello,

Recently I tore into my 96SS again with Megs 82 and then topped it off with some P21S. Car looks stunning as it usually does after I detail it. (The hard part is keeping black looking that way!)

I noticed the my rear quarter panels looked "whited out" prior to the detail but the car was filthy and the paint was scratched to death so I did not think much of it until after I got it all done. When you get close to the pannel you can see that it looks like its been sand blasted. Apparently my 275/40/17 Suckass Goodyear GS-D3's (I hate these tires) catch every little rock and sling it up on the pannel.

So I asked on the impalaforum about this issue and was told its an issue with most the SS's. Its also an issue around the wheel wells of my brand new C6 Corvette.

It was suggested that I use a Clear Spray Guard to protect these areas. Supposedly someone offers a spray on plastic that will not damage the paint, dries clear, and protects from rock chips. I ask my fellow Autopian's Does this infact exist? If so, does it work? Are there any other options you can thing of. The front of the C6 is getting 3M clear bra, for sure, but what about those other areas???????
