Clear Coat Failure is Ram-pit Seems Like.

Just One More Coat
As a car buff and someone that loves a well cleaned car. I look at cars online and on the road / parking lots all the time.

What I find interesting is the amount of what seems like newer cars that have fairly large amounts of clear coat failure.

My neighbor has a 09 Toyota that has several spots of CCF..I then wonder if this on a lot of cars is from lack of car care and protection?

My 18 YO Camry still looks very good and no visible signs of CCF.

It's one of those things that just makes you go Hummm

I notice the same thing. Biggest ones I see are about '00 to '10 Toyota's and Nissans with the Corolla and Altima being the most frequent I see with CC failure starting on the roof. I think Toyota admitted to their faulty CC but I haven't heard anything from Nissan.

On the flipside, I try and keep my vehicles well protected and even then the CC/paint is failing on top of the rear doors and rear bumper on the Chevy. It's only 6 years old.

I was very confused by the title of your thread but I see now you meant rampant not ram-pit.

I noticed something lovely on my moms 07 Corolla when she came from out of state for a visit, it had a nice size rust spot forming on the rear rocker panel. No doubt it gets severely neglected and deals with harsh NE winters and lives right near the water.
