Sorry this had to happen to you.. What color is the paint?
What have you done to the spot ? Anything?

Give polishing a try, the acid in the dropping may have just filled the paint?

I trust you have chemically neutralized the guano lest it keep eating away at the paint forever (rather than expecting the Dawn to neutralize it).
Most of the time such stuff can only be fixed with a paintgun, at least if you`re particular. Most shops are very reluctant to spot-in repairs with today`s paints, but I`d still check into it. Just don`t take the first response as gospel.

Most guano is acidic, so an alkaline/base product should neutralize it. My usual answer is the ValuGard [sic] ABC System; in this case I`m thinking "A" (the alkaline step) though some would say to use both it and "B" (the acidic step; "C" is a neutral carwash).

Good! Unless it`s something *really* awful, it only matters as much as you allow it to. Not like the paint`s gonna start peeling off or anything like that. Unless it *is* really awful, but even then I wouldn`t lose sleep worrying about it.
I *would* however get some better LSP (Last Step Product, i.e., wax/sealant/coating) on there so it doesn`t happen again.
beyond the Chem Guys Eco Smart? suggestions are welcome. Not like I have a lot of time with this. Just want to keep the car looking nice in case Scarlett Johansson need a ride, and my spouse is OK with that.

Wipe it down with white vinegar, simple and cheap. Polish and wax it.

Hold it, hold it....I know nobody (other than me) will buy products like ValuGard "A" and "B" for something like this, but I wouldn`t settle for *vinegar* if trying to neutralize presumably *acidic* contamination. Acid + acid doesn`t equal neutralized it equals even more acid.

Make a paste with baking soda and apply for a couple minutes, but don`t let dry, then rinse.

I don`t really expect anybody to look into, let alone buy, the ValuGard stuff, and posting a direct link would be a no-no, but if you search on Automotive International ValuGard ABC Decontamination System you oughta find it. All the major automakers have tested/used/approved the stuff. Even if you`ll never buy/use it, they have great info on what needs to be done to decontaminate a vehicle properly and why it`s necessary.
