Cleaning WW Towels

Well I just used mine for the first time and all i got to say is :shocked that thing is thirsty!! No matter how much water I went over it still would soak up more. But not that I have used it how do I clean it? Do I need to clean it after every use? Should I wash it just like a MF towels I use for polishing?

I wash it with all my other MF's. I usually wash mine after every use, because I pick up little dirty spots here and there.

Talking about a waffle weave, right?

Wash it whenever it gets dirty. I really don't think it's necessary after every use, use your own judgement on that one. Washing it with your other MFs shouldn't be an issue, just go by the same rules...no excessive heat, no fabric softener, try to use liquid detergent, etc.

Use a liquid detergent free of bleach, fragrance, fabric softener, etc. Then in the rinse cycle add a capfull of vinegar for each towel in the machine..

The best thing to do is perform a search on cleaning microfiber. The process to achieve a clean WW and MF towels are exactly the same.

I usually get a a couple/few uses before washing, unless its dropped or obviously dirty......I wash in hot, with either liquid or powder, never had a problem with powder not dissolving, just dont use too much. Dry on high....Thats what i do, and have been since i first bought MF's a yr ago......Still have my original beginner towels, and WW's......So, to each his own, im pretty much against what others are doing or reccommending, but im proof it can be done......I dont think they need to be treated like a baby's diaper....:xyxthumbs

So, can somebody recommend a readily available detergent that works fine? I've got WW towels that have stains on them - I know, I know - the car must not have been clean in the first place. If a detergent doesn't work, will these MF washing products get the stains out? Also, will these products be effective after having washed MF's and WW's in detergent?

Seriously, just use your regular laundry detergent....If there stained, there still functional. I seriously doubt any of us are using any that dont have stains!

I'm pretty sure our "regular" laundry detergent contains fabric softener.

So, do you think my perceived loss of absorbsion (right word) is more a result of our hard water than the detergent I use - I use liquid Tide without fab softener right now. I'll try using more vinegar in the rinse.
