Why is it not recommeded to use ammonia based glass cleaners on tinted windows?

Are we taking about tinted windows that come stock on a vehicle or windows that have been made tinted from after market supplies, or both?

i don't see a problem using if it's the stock tint that is in the window. if it's aftermarket tint where they apply it to the inside, i would not use it as it will deteriorate the film over time (possibly turn it purple). i use IG and see no need to switch to an ammonia based window cleaner as it works great...
