Cleaning speaker grilles

How do you clean a dirty speeker cover, which I am thinking it is some sort of mesh or thin polyester. I heard not to use anything that is liquid. I would experiment with it but it belongs to someone else and its a mercedes.

Compressed air would work I believe. If not, try a damp towel. That should do the trick. Good luck

A shop vac with some APC mixed to 10/1 water and APC and a soft plastic brush......if they are material....mesh ones I use the plastic brush and suck at the same time with the shop vac to keep the dirt from going inside the speaker area

Spray Folex onto the grille, allow to dwell for 30 seconds, shopvac out the solution and follow up with an MF.

I use one of the brush tips for my shop vac.The tip is to trim the bristles down to about 1/4 inch so they are firm, mist grill with 1/8 mix of simple green/water then shop vac with bristle tip.... Seems to work well for me.

Carefull if you use compresed air not to blow a hole through the speaker.

Most stock speakers have a cheap paper cone. So, I try and avoid getting them wet. With this in mind, the way I clean speaker grilles is to spray some Meguiar's Interior QD on a foam applicator. I scrub the grill with the applicator and then wipe off with a MF.
