If it works (and doesn't mess with velcro backing), then it works :D

I don't do it much because I think I get 'em cleaner by hand (hot water, Dawn Power Dissolver and/or TOL PrepWash ), but if it's working for you, then that's that IMO.

Do you wipe it out after wards in order to prevent stains on your clothing? My wife would go crazy if I did that!

Nope....never had any residue or dirt remaining

I always clean out *both* washing machines regularly anyhow, even the one with the stainless steel basket that doesn't normally get used for nasty stuff.

But yeah, my garage/shop washer does need cleaned out a lot more often than the household one.

I used to only have one washing machine for both the household textiles and the detailing stuff, no real problem as long as you keep an eye on things and clean as necessary.

I’ve tried, and it doesn’t really clean them for me, but if it works for you, do it! Just dont throw them in the driver with any type of heat!

As Accumulator stated, I also think I get them just as clean using dog shampoo (cleans well, doesn't keep foaming, rinses well and keeps the pads pretty "soft") and a hot rinse. I did them in the washing machine, as well as my MF towels when I first got married, and my wife nearly killed me. Now, I clean the pads by hand and take the MF to the cleaner. The cleaner will wash (I Specify NO BLEACH) and dry them for around $9.00 for 30 towels. I have had no problems with marring/scratching issues either since I started taking them to the cleaners; and I figure that for about .30 cents per towel (less my wife yelling at me and being angry), that's not a bad deal.

Ive always washed my pads in the machine but there are a few I do not, a couple of older meguiars pads and my 3M ultrafina blue pads. But ive never had any issues.

I wash mine in the machine as well with good results. I have a 5 gallon bucket filled with water and pad cleaning soap. I just throw them in there as im using them and then grab them all and put them in the wash together.

If i let them sit out without soaking or they end up drying out completely with plish residue on them, I break out the Dawn Power Dissolver and wash them by hand in the sink.
