Cleaning floor mats

I currently clean my carpet floor mats by spraying them with a mixture of Meguiars Deep Crystal car soap in a spray bottle and them agitating them with my fingers and finally rinsing them out.

I was wondering if Meguiars APC or something similar would work better than using car soap? With my current method the mats do get pretty clean.

Thanks, Josh :)

For dirty mats I spray with APC or dedicated carpet cleaner, agitate with brush, pressure wash, vacuum, leave out of car to fully dry.

Just be thankful you aren't dealing with lambswool mats. I spent a long time blotting out sticky tangles in mine with some detergent and a paper towel!

Car wash soap is not designed to remove stains. Apc or even better a dedicated carpet chemical will work better.

folex is great for cleaning floor mats or any carpet for that matter and it is rinseless. this is my go to cleaner for mostly everything. also easy to get can find it at lowes

The first step is to shake carpet floor mat to discharge excessive debris and dust as much as possible.

Use vacuum across the floor mate from top to bottom (or left to right) to eliminate dirt from it. Add water with strong stream to carpet cleaner to produce suds and splatter on floor mat’s area to be cleaned. Scrub the carpet with hard bristle brush to eliminate dirt particles. Use microfiber towel or wet/dry vacuum to remove excess water.

I am using extractor carpet shampoo. I find it working better than other soap as it cleans carpet and helps to bring out original beauty.

Using a shop Vac after you wash them and scrub them really takes out the extra water and helps them dry much faster.
