Cleaning coated wheels.

DETAILED TODAY?
As we all know, coated wheels just require soap & water to do the job. Well i have one of the AF pressure sprayers not in use.

My idea is to fill this with a good soap/water mix. Then spray the wheels down prior to cleaning with the mothers wheel brush. I am going to give this a go this weekend and will report how it works out. My usuall way was a seperate bucket with a soap/water mix for the wheels.
 
I've always used a separate spray bottle for the wheels/wells/undercarriage, and that pressurized one should work great.

Wonder if you'll like it better than the wash bucket approach, I'll be interested to hear what you decide.
 
I also always use a spray bottle for wheels. I use rinseless wash 98% of the time so I spray the wheels and tires and have a few designated microfibers that I wash and dry with. My wheels aren't coated but they are protected and maintained well enough that it's a non issue.

I do this on a semi-regular basis.

But I use UWWP, ONR, becasue they are made for water-less / rinse-less washing so they seem to work better for me.
 
Somewhat off-topic, but does anybody else find that cleaning wheels with ONR makes it *harder* to clean them the next time? It was such an issue for me that I quit doing it (no such problems with IUDJ.. so far).

I've never noticed actually. Now I will have to observe. I usually bounce between D114, ONR, and UWW+

DP wheel coating. The more i thought about this at work, i may scrap the idea. Because nothing is going to produce foam like soap in a bucket! And i use a speed master jr. brush for the barrels. Both brushes soaking in the bucket. I was just trying to think outside the box.

I was looking at the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Wheel Coating and the McKee's 37 Wheel Coating which I think is the newer version of what you're using.
 
Where are you going to rinse your brushes when you get rhem loaded with dirt?

what about just getting a foam sprayer for a regular bottle and using it there?

maybe 2 or so towels so you don't have to use anything that may be resoiled


i have hydro2 lite on my wheels on my srt and i use spray and rinse 1:1 and it rinses clean and i just spray a mist and wipedown with prima Hydro
works for me - and the wheels stay looking great
 
when i had my trucks wheels PBL coated all I ever used was a wet rag from my RW bucket folded into quarters (but frontier wheels are quite simple to clean)

i find my big blaster foam trigger to be okay but much rather would use my Kwazar foamer (even though it doesn't hold foam much and I basically have to pump it around the whole car but it still is easier to use than dragging a hose IMO)
