Cleaning and Storing Ferrari Parts

jimmybuffit

That'll buff right out!
I have a wonderful client with:

1. Aston Martin

2. Viper (x2)

3. Chrysler Minivan

4. MB SL500

5. Ferrari

The F has just been completely rebuilt, and owner needs to clean and save several mechanical parts (for the next owner).

What's the BEST, and most practical, way to clean these parts? How to store them?

Asuming that a thin coating of oil is appropriate, does the oil weight/type matter?

Would it help/hurt to wrap the parts in foodwrap (Saran Wrap)?

Thanks for your help!

Jim

I worked for a Ferrari dealer a while back and based on my observations and knowing the cars I would lightly coat them in Agip oil in whatever weight you can get it in and then wrap in an oiled cloth and place in either a tupperwear or ziplock depending on size of part. If any of the parts are electrical in nature consult a dealer before doing anyhtign with them.

I don't know if this applies here because I don't know how dirty the parts are but carb cleaner from autozone will magically clean pretty much anything metal. I did this on a part I rebuilt and now it looks new. Make sure that it is autozone brand, it works better then other brands and it's cheaper.
