cleaning after snow

Hi all, while we had our first snow storm of the season :(. Now what is the best way to keep the car clean w/o being able to wash it. Expect to have plenty of road salt on her by the time I get home from work. How does everyone here handle this.

TIA

Well. It has always been said that for winter cars, the easiest way to keep them clean is to have a paint sealant on them first. I use Klasse, which helps in the prevention of water spots and such. Then the way to clean it is at a self wash (no recycled water though), you spray it down (heated water usually) then you spray it with soapy water, then you spray it down with heated water again and leave. This touchless service allows the removal of most contaminents without using those brushes (full of sand) that they offer.

Thanks for the re-ply! There ae no self wash places anywhere near me so I guess I'll have to look into a "no-touch" car wash. Never used one before so I'm going to start searching for one in my area. Thanks again.

Might want to look into Quick and Easy Wash. I just ordered a gallon last week to give it a try. A lot of people here use it.

and do a search on QEW and you'll find a lot of good info.

Hope this helps.

I got mine today from CampingWorld.com :up . Can't wait to use it...However, they say on extremely soiled surfaces, a rinse is necessary prior to use.

I just got mine today too :). Packing is great !

I think depending on how dirty it is, I'll spray it down with water first. From what I've read here, it's a judgement call whether or not to use QEW or do a regular wash. I bought it with the intention to use once or twice a week depending on the winter.
