cleaner wax?

There is no cure!
would a cleaner wax be helpful in waxing a car twice a month... i dont know how i got this in my head, but i have the conception that a cleaner wax like "mothers original formula carnuba wax" might have some abrasives that might take off a lil tiny tiny tiny layer of paint or take the old wax right off instead of topping onto a previous one...

will someone give me a full detail, use, and identities of a cleaner wax when compared to a 100% carnuba wax.... oh and one last thing. could a cleaner wax be layered (for those who believe carnuba can be layered) onto other carnubas / synthetic waxes

I dont think it would be wise to use a cleaner wax twice a month. By it being a cleaner wax, it would more than likely remove some of the previous wax you had put on. I think that cleaner waxes are more useful for people who do not want spend much time to polish and really prep their paint for wax. It is kind of an all-in-one type of deal that may take less time. These often have some abrasiveness to them also, thus it would also be pointless to layer a cleaner wax (as far as I am concerned).

????

ok. but its not at all bad for the car right? its safe to wax every 2-4 weeks (to protect against this hurricane, heat, humidity miami weather). i ask because i bought mothers original formula carnuba and i would like to detail my car every 2-3 months and use mothers every 2-3 weeks

I don't know how well you could layer a cleaner wax. But then again, I don't see what it woudl hurt if you're gonna use the stuff every 2 weeks either. All I can say is give it a try and see if you like it. Good Luck.

For every 2 weeks, you could use Mothers (if you prefer to stay in that line) Pure Carnauba wax. No abrasives, no polishing. You might get a couple layers from this.
As to the cleaner wax, it has a mild polish, which will help with cobwebbing, but I would be seriously surprised if it polished off the paint, even if used every 2 weeks. I doubt you could layer it, but I guess if you applied it gently enough, the polishing might not be effective, so you'd end up just waxing. :dunno
You might try using a qd to "spruce up" the protection a little and then wax every 3-4 weeks.

But, of course, it's up to you and what you like, so try the cleaner wax every 2-3 weeks and see. As I've said, I don't think you'll go through the paint (at least not for the first year! -j/k).

Disclaimer: Since I haven't used Mothers waxes, I don't know what the results might be with their products.
Possibly Forrest will stop by and shed some light on this subject.

FWIW, I used Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Protection monthly on several vehicles over a 10 year period of time. I didn't think I was layering the wax, but more likely removing some of the old wax to have a freshly waxed surface. There did not seem to be any bad effects and I owned one of the vehicles for 14 years. Most cleaner waxes remove very small amounts of paint since they are really not very abrasive. No doubt there will be some that might be pretty harsh, but I don't think Mothers would be one of them.

Pretty sure all cleaner wax products contain petroleum distillates, which means they will remove anything on the surface being protected including previous applied layer(s) of that same product.

Layering a carnauba product like p21s, s100, Natty's & others is possible because they probably don't contain any petroleum distillates (solvents) or abrasives.
