cleaner wax on new car?

Is it a bad idea to use a cleaner wax (such as meguiars #6 or mother's) on a brand new car? I want something that will give me the easiest way to maintain my car's finish without too much time investment. Just wondering if the cleaner/polish combos might be too abrasive for a new finish.

Thanks,

Mitch

That should be totally fine. I polished my car with a PC and a true abrasive polish the day after I bought it.

If you want to go a step above, clay the car before the cleaner wax. The cars accumulate a lot of contaminants which bond to the finish in the weeks they sit on the lot. Clay will remove this.

Thanks for the feedback!

So, what would you say is the best "no brainer" product for someone who wants the best results for the least amount of work...

1. Meguiars #6

2. Mother's cleaner wax (liquid or paste?)

3. Klasse

thanks,

EDIT:

The Klasse AIO/SG is going to look the best and most durable but will be more time intensive (2-3 steps)

The Meg's and Mothers will be about the same. Liquid or paste is going to be personal preference. I think liquid is alittle easier to work with.

I was referring to AIO. Dont have anything yet, but was wondering how well Klasse AIO works along without adding SG afterwards.

the #6 is fine but you won't have much protection beyond 4 weeks. I've used it plenty of times. I have yet to find a great one step product apart from Liquid Luster. Some people are comfortable with NuFinish but I'd never use that on a new car...it's hugely abrasive.

Klasse AIO, used as a standalone product, has a very short lifespan, too. I've tried that as well.

After searching for so long for a 1-step procedure for my daily driver, I have conceded that no great product exists. I have realized that a 2 step process (Klasse or Poorboy's, for example) will ultimately provide far more protection, better appearance and less annual effort.

tom,

thanks for the reply. So, would you way that a AIO/SG combo is a durable and relatively easy finish? Would it last longer than most waxes?

Thanks

Mitch

For amount of energy spent, Klasse AIO followed up by one (or more coats of Sealant Glaze will yield the durability you're looking for. The Sealant Glaze step is ESSENTIAL to the products' success.

It is likely the most efficient routine for a person that doesn't want to wax every 6 - 8 weeks.
