when using the claybar i just wanted to make sure i'm doing it right with the following steps:

1) Put a quick detailer (as a lube) on 2X2 section to work one.

2) Clay over the lubed area

3) work other sections until all of vehicle is done

Now i have a few quesitons about the following steps:

Question for Step 1:

How much detailer am i supposed to use on each section?

Question for Step 2:

What is the correct method to clay? How much pressure should i put on?

Question for Step 3:

After I clay a certian area, can i immediately wipe off with MF towel? Or will i have to let it set for a while?

Thanks!

Step 1: Just use enough to lubricate the bar and paint, so your not dragging a dry bar against your paint. What I do is spray the area of the paint I am working on, then spray a small amount on the clay bar itself.

Step 2: You shouldn't have to use any kind of pressure (very moderate, if any). Just let the clay glide across the surface of the car.

Step 3: You can wipe the QD off of the car immediatly after your done claying the area.

Step 1: A minute or two of actually doing it will teach you how much to put on. Depending on how warm it is, you might want to just spray the immediate area you're working otherwise the QD can dry up before you get there. You only need enough to keep the bar gliding - spray more if you feel it's drying out.

Step 2: Only use as much pressure as you need to keep the clay from flying off your fingers. ;) Gently swipe until it's smooth.

Step 3: You actually should wipe down the area right after claying or the QD will dry up and get hard to remove. The instructions will usually tell you this....

Don't worry so much and just go for it! :)
