Clay that's slightly more stronger than Meguiars

I've got a few little areas of rail dust on my rear, but I was unable to remove them using the Meguiars quick clay. I'm looking for something a little stronger, but will not mar everything up unless being very careful. What about the Clay magic or sonus clays, how are they? I'm not really to sure what else is out there that is good.

Was that blue or white Meg's clay?

Are you pressing hard? You need to use a lot of elbow grease to get stubborn stuff out with a claybar at times. It's perfectly normal.

BTW, Meg's also makes 2 other grades of clay aside from the typical white "fine" clay sold at most stores.

I use clay magic (blue) and have used Meg's quick clay (I prefer clay magic), but not because it is stronger or even better at removing bonded contaminents, I prefer it because I just think it is a better combination of size and maliability.

I think if you need something stronger (more aggressive) you'll have to move up into something less fine.

if you're looking for something a step up in agressiveness from the megs clay, than go with the claymagic kit. you can find it at your local autozone for around $11 (priced just right without all the extra stuff) and it comes with the spray lube as well...

p.s. save the bottle when you're done and use it with other QD's/spray wax's...

Thw white clay.

Not really, I'm putting the pressure on it with my fingertips. I didn't want to chance any marring.

Well the white is the finest of the clays, and with a clean surface it is impossible to marr paint with it. Because it isn't very aggressive, that may also be why you aren't getting it all out.

Most would agree it would even be impossible with a blue clay bar (I've never seen marring from blue Meg's clay, Zaino yellow clay, clay magic blue clay, or Meg's white clay even when pushing as hard as I possibly could.

Don't be afraid to use some serious elbow grease with clay. Just keep the surface lubed and you will be fine. I suggest one more try really getting down on the clay, and if that fails any blue mild clay will do the trick (Clay magic or Meg's).

get a more aggressive clay and then do a light polishing...

it will clean up the paint MUCH faster, and with the polishing step you will bring out more luster from the paint...win win in my book

I know the yellow mothers clay is so unaggressive. I like the white clay from meguiars. you can find the kit that comes with 2 clay bars a qd and a microfiber for 15 at Walmart.
