Clay & QEW questions . . .

I'm in CA and since the rain (few weeks ago) the paint surface suddenly feels like it need to be clayed. Is it ok to wash with QEW and then clay the car section by section using QEW to remove any left behind residue? How effective would the clay bar be since I won't be removing the old wax off before I clay (really don't have an option to use dawn and a hose rinse to strip the old wax) ?

Yes, you can clay after using QEW, just as you can clay after washing your car by any other method.

What residue are you referring to? If you clay with QD and wipe with microfibers there shouldn’t be any residue.

If you clay using QEW for lube, well, I have no idea how that goes, I haven’t tried it. I’m sure somebody around here can give feedback on that.

Claying is just as effective whether you remove the wax or not. It’s irrelevant.
