Chrome truck rims and tanks

Hello autopia! I have my own detail garage, and started to buff and polish transport chrome. I can remove most scratches and swirls, and can get most of the process down.. but I am having a hard time getting the "mirror finish" i`m looking for, theres always little swirl marks or something still there. I have 3 clay bars and 3 buffing pads, brown, green, and blue bars and yellow green and white pads.. are there any tips or tricks for getting that last step down correctly?

Which pads and polish exactly are you using to finish? I have a feeling you should be finishing with something less aggressive like a soft foam finishing pad.

for finishing i`m using a white Keystone Polishing Buffing Wheel with a Blue Rouge bar, and then I use some auto sol metal polish at the end.. sometimes by hand and sometimes at a low rpm with the buffer.. I usually start off with the brown Rouge Bar/yellow buffing wheel, Then on to a green Rouge Bar/green buffing wheel, then green bar again with the white buffing wheel, then the blue bar with the with the white buffing wheel and auto sol.
