Chrome exhaust tips

After two years, I hit them with a pressure washer and paint ripped off and now they are nothing but rust and not appealing. My plan is to sand them down and put a coat of primer on them, then put a coat or two of Krylon Chrome paint.

Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

normally primers are not heat resistant.
If you are going to use this on your exhaust tips I think it wouldn't hold up too well, you might be better off just using the chrome paint.

You might want to try and find a caliper painting kit in chrome, those kits are ment for high temps.

Can you just replace the tips??

also if it fits your look you could sand it and use a black grill (like propane and charcol) it it is heat resestent

For the work and investment in time, sand paper, primer, and chrome paint you might be better off replacing them like jaybs95 said. You probably also will not get the same look as a new set.
