chip with rust help

I have a few chips on my hood and some have rust in them. I am aware of how to fix the chip with touch up paint but how do i remove the rust?

Ive got 3 spots on my trunk that have that rust too, in for response.

They sell a small fiberglass brush that can be used to sand down the rust. I got mine at Pep boys I think. Let me see if I can find a pic or link. It's about the size of a pencil. (Think of a pencil eraser pencil filled with a fiberglass brush, that can be extended as it wears down). I can't seem to find a link. I can take a pic of mine, but I am not sure how to post it here. Eastwood now has one (34119 Fiberglass Rust Brush) that looks a little more precise.

Griot’s (50303A Spot Sanding Tool) might even be a little finer than that. Hard to tell from the pix (and I’m too lazy to go digging around in the garage right now to compare them side by side).
