Chinelle wash mitt users....

How long are you getting out of your chinelle wash mitt? I have been using ones that are found locally ie; Target, Walmart etc. I find I have to replace them about every month or two. They seem to lose the softness and plushness which makes me nervous to use on my finish. Also from the day they are new they are constantly shedding their Nap.

How do you care for yours to get the most out of them? Do you machine wash and dry them, rinse only real well then air dry etc, etc.?

I'm actually thinking about switching to sheepskin, but there are opinions on those to. :nixweiss

I typically get a couple of years from my chenille mitts with minimal degradation. They don't lose much plushness.

Really? Do you use a higher quality or the ones found at pepboys, Autozone etc.? Do you machine wash them?

I have a chenille mitt for wheels/tires and a MF mitt for the car. I've had the chenille mitt for about a year now, and it's still soft, and looks pretty much the same as when I got it.

The mitt itself is beginning to separate from the elastic wristband part so I may only get a few more washes out of it.

I have both a Chenille wash sponge, and a sheepsking mitt. I definitely prefer the sheepskin myself. That being said, the Chenille pad works great too. I usually replace them every four months or so, whether they seem to need it or not.
