Hey everyone,

Here is my second detail using Ultima Paint Guard. Vehicle is a 2000 something Chevy Trailblazer; belongs to my sister in-law. Was a free detail as I gave her this gift to redeem whenever she wanted...so as soon as I recieved Ultima I called her up to see if she was ready.

Process was:

Optimum Polish via White Polishing Pad

Jeff W. Prime and Blackfire Finishing Polish via Blue Finishing Pad

2 Coats of Ultima Paint Guard

Trim is wearing Ultima Trim Guard

I tried to do the tires with Trim Guard but it just didn't look good, even after three coats. So I ended up using Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel

Wheel Wells were done wih CD-2 Engine Detailer

Wheels have Ultima Trim Guard (Makes rims *very* slick!)

Interior was vaccumed, cleaned with APC and leather/vinyl recieved Four Star Leather Conditioner

That metallic paint is beautiful, a very nice detail! Love the little display case in your garage, a nice touch.

Thanks guys! I think my opinion of Ultima is slowly changing. I think if I were to order again I would order the Paint Guard, Detail Spray, and Trim Guard. I would not re-order the Elastrofoam. As for the trim guard I don't like it on tires at all, but on the trim it looks nice.

As for the Paint Guard, my car is still looking like it was just detailed, is very slick and has a nice wet glossy look to it. I was driving down the highway last night and I found myself looking in my side mirrors staring at the paint as the sun hit it...it was very wet looking and a crisp white. I do not have any buildup of any kind which is surprising because after a couple days my car is usually showing signs of dust settling and buildup on the hatch but so far nothing is sticking to it.

Another positive about the Paint Guard Plus is it takes hardly anything to do a vehicle. I have done two vehicles now for a total of 5 coats used (Heavy coats, I spray my applicator more often than necessary) and the bottle barely looks used. The real test will be with this Trailblazer; it is washed every so often but they do not wax it when they wash. So it will be a good test to see the slickness a couple months down the road, and then after winter; to see how it holds up with what one of our "average" customer might do if they call for a detail once or twice a year.
