Is Chemical Guys a force to be reckoned with? I've been seeing more and more people using and talking about their products? What products are you guys using from them?!

I use the Citrus Wash at paint prep ratio in my foam gun and it works great but that's the only chemical guys product Ive used.

The 5050 wax is what I've heard most about. Don't see it being much protection, more of an appearance wax with all that carnauba.

Define protection. Water beading does not equal protection. There are plenty of products that will bead water for close to a year. Those same products do miserably with bird poo.

What are some of the products that you've found that protect the best in your opinion? Sorry OP i'm not trying to highjack your thread.

Pure carnauba, FK1000P, KSG are pretty solid performers. Opticoat as well but hardwater spotting is its achilles heal.

HYBRID V7- Optical Select-High Gloss Spray Sealant & Detailer and their towels MONSTER MICROFIBER EXTREME THICKNESS Microfiber Towel W/Black Silk Edges

Protection meaning can withstand elements and will not allow things like road tar, bugs etc to adhere in between washes like #845, Klasse sealant, opti guard. I'm imagining CG 5050 wax that's similar too swissvax that's high in carnauba oils

I only bring this topic up because the local wholesale distributor product quality is going down the tubes. I am think of just going with Zymol. The new product line I choose to go with will be used for the daily drivers.

CG50/50 isn't very oily and it seems pretty durable, though I haven't pushed it that hard, maybe 2 months. Its not oily anything like Pinnacle Souveran.

Things I recommend

Citrus Wash

Glass cleaner "WINDOW CLEAN / GLASS CLEANER-TINT SAFE-STREAK FREE-AMMONIA FREE RE-DILUTEABLE"

Bare Bones

Wheel cleaners are alright

JetSeal 109

Products I don't recommend

V.R.P. Looked great, washed off with the first rain. Waste of time and money.

All air fresheners wear off quickly.

Chemical guys deletes all negative or semi-negative reviews on their website.

I have used various low-to-mid-level Zymol products and I would never consider them for typical daily drivers or beaters cars. Out of curiosity, which of their products are you considering?

Back to your main question, I do like Chemical Guy products but they are not at the level at which I would blindly buy their products based on their reputation. As Dan mentioned, they have got a few diamonds in their product line but there is also a bunch of mediocre "fluff". I am glad they are cleaning up their atrocious website but definitely do give them a call as their product pricing varies very, very, very frequently.

I use a lot of products from Chemical Guys, but after my last purchase of Bug & Tar Heavy Duty Shampoo, I'm not sure anymore. I did a review of it, I only gave it a 3 of 5 rating, I wasn't all that happy with the results. They didn't post my review, only the 5 of 5 reviews made it, so I'm assuming all there products are rated 5 of 5 from customers.

EZ Creme

Black Light

V7

Jet Seal

Wet Mirror Finish

Pro Detailer

Bare Bones

Clay Lube

Lava Wax

Don't care for any of their polishes.
