I'm really tierd of paying $15-17 or a piece of clay that comes with other products i don't need. I have detailer and such to use with it. I gotta think a piece of clay smaller than a bar of soap cannot cost nearly as much to manufactur as it would seem judging by the price. So theres got to be a cheaper source. Anyone know where i can get clay much cheaper? If not, someone should figure out the recipe because you could sell them for 1/2 the cost that mothers and BM do and make a fortune !

Auto Zone, $10 or $11.00 bucks.

Changeling

It used to be that the cheapest on a per ounce basis (without factoring in shipping costs) were Griot's and the purple clay from TOL.

Only problem is, online the shipping tends to bring the cost close to just buying it locally at auto zone or such. By the way, all i've ever seen at AZ is blue magic for around $15 if i recall.

Buy it on ebay. Theres a guy selling 5 200 gram bars shipped for like 40 bucks. He also sells them in single bars, 50, and 200 bulk pricing. There is nothing wrong with it besides it doesn't have a cult following like the botiqe clay, which is the same stuff . Buy it, you won't regret it.

ditto on the ebay clay. its a gray colored clay. CAnt be the price.

I'll chack some other AZ's. The one near me doesn't have it. As to the ebay guy, anyone have a link to that member?

Wow, that does seem like a good deal...of course, I have so much clay from other "good deals", I could start my own store :p Shipping doesn't seem too bad, either.

Autozone= clay magic blue $10

Carquest ussually carry's just the bar if thats all you want.

As i said, the one near me doesn't have that. And if you mean "blue magic" brand, then i HAVE found that at another AZ but it was more like $15 and had lube with it.

Im finding that hard to believe. I bet what you saw was clay magic and you seen the wrong price on it.

Coulda been, but i'm not wrong on the price because i bought it there once long ago and at that time it was $13. So i'm sure it's $15 by now, and last time i saw it i believe thats what it was. I thought it was made by the co that makes blue magic stuff, but maybe i'm wrong. In any case it was a blue colored bar with a small bottle of what seemed like soapy water. Definatly not a detailer whatever it was. I'm in Ca by the way, and often chains in different parts of the country with have different prices and the products may vary, IE: a bar for $10 vs a bar with a tiny bottle of soapy water for $15. In any cas ei have never seen any clay in any AZ or any other store around here that cheap or w/o other products boxed with it.

I went to the Ebay link mentioned earlier, eBay Store - hotgarageflooring: Automotive Detailing, Adhesives Tape, Garage Flooring and found the 200 gram bar for $9.95 w/$2.95 Shipping.

The Clay Magic at Auto Zone for $10 is only 100 grams but does include a lube. After reading all of the threads on clay bars, you may have enough other lubricates to use.

In the product description: This detailing clay, surface preparation bar was manufactured by Auto Wax Company makers of Clay Magic the #1 leader in eraser bars for your car.
