Chamois Substitutes ??

Hi everyone, I have a question for you all. I've been using a leather chamois for my detailing forever, and was wondering if there is anything out there that is as good as or better for water removal etc. I see a lot of synthetic stuff and new fibers and all, but was wondering what is your take on these things? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work !

The Absorber is my favorite synthetic chamois that isn't made out of microfiber. It is amazing how much water that thing can soak up. Basically you just rinse the car off with a slow stream of water and then blot off the rest with the Absorber. Its a fantasic drying tool.

I use the absorber as well, although I regularly check it to make sure there is nothing sitting on it. Do to the fact that its not like a microfiber towel where it would pull in small sediment, this would actualy sit on the surface of the foam and you could possibly leave marks.

I also use the Absorber on occasion. IMO, the best feature of the Absorber is the ability to wring it "dry" as compared to the MF where once it is wet, you cannot return it to the state where it was most effective. Of course that mainly comes into play when working on the larger vehicles or multiple vehicles back-to-back.

Working with an Absorber and a smaller MF towel can be the best of both worlds. You remove the bulk of the water with the Absorber and follow with the MF and your favorite "drying aid".

Until recently I was using the same Absorber that I've been using for seven years. I had retired it to engine bay detailing a few years ago, but it still held up. In fact, I'd probably still be using it if I hadn't lost it. lol They are very durable and mine only had a couple snags from catching on the wiper blades.

I use a CA.Water Blade followed by Waffle Weaves. I purchase the largest ones made due to owning a truck and for the truck I usually use 3 and for the cars i can get away with 2 and sometimes even one.
