CG new clay block?

Old Pirate

AMG Classic Car Detailing
Saw that CG has a new clay block that looks like the one db now sells. Just wondering if their the same one (looks like it does).

detailspluss upped their price to 17.95 + hefty shipping. I ordered elsewhere with my standard discount for around 15. +4 bucks for shipping.

14.95 at detailmycar.com, buds shipping isn't that bad if you order $50 or more(detailplus) and by the way they are worth it if it is $18 or $15 they do a great job

Wow, from 9.95???

yes,

I went to order 10 more, and sharrie told me they were 17.95 with some for shipping. I passed.

bud explained the vendor will not sell him any more if he does not sell at market price. So i found a guy selling them cheaper, with less shipping.

Thing was i bought 4 originally, I shipped 3 out to people to try, so.. i got one out of the deal.

Shrug...

I'm intrigued by these clay replacements but still a little concerned about marring when they are used for claying after a wash. If I was going to polish after claying I wouldn't be concerned but I like to spot clay when I find tree sap or tar........Maybe a gentle traditional clay would still be best for this.

maybe bud is using the 8 bucks to help with the recent construction of his site?????

You didnt honestly think it would stay at $10.00 did you? Thats only there to entice you and get the word out. With a product as unique as it is, it was just a matter of time. $18.00 is a still a good 10-20% lower then a traditional 200 gm bar of clay.....As for which one last longer? That I couldnt tell you......I get quite a lot of claying done with 8oz of clay!

This may be a little off topic, but I just bought the CG clayblock and have not used it yet. Anyone have any opinions on how good or not good it works? I should also say I have never used clay. Thanks in advance.

Mike

I would try a body shop supply ....last time I was there they had a basket full of them and priced at 9.95 each....I did not grab any since I have a ton of the old yellow clay...but worth a shot to see if they have any or can get them....

Ruttrow try it out and let me know, i'm just curious about it and wondering if it's the same one that db sells now?

Bud mentioned when he first got them that it was a limited time price, I do about 15 cars with one sponge

They work great as mention, you can use them with spray detailer(spray wax) or throw it in the wash bucket and clay as you wash the car. ie. wash the hood with your sponge or whatnot, then clay with the sponge, and if you drop it, you can wash it off unlike a traditional bar
