Cars most frequently detailed.....

Quick survey....for those of you who make a living detailing, even for those who ambush on the weekends....What vehicles do you find you most frequently detail ? I kind of went to bed the other night wondering and forgot to post, so "the curiosity is killing me".......

Feel free to post just a manufacturer if you want, or model also.

Truthfully, I've "done a lot of everything", not any real one specific make or model....(And why all my Porsches are limited to dark colors is beyond me) (And why all the SUV's are dark also....)

I've only done ~15 cars in the past few months, and of them only two have been the same manufacturer (Honda), but oddly, every one has been an import. Infiniti, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Audi, Lexus are all on the list. No domestics... I didn't even think of it 'till you mentioned it, actually.

I haven't detailed the same model of car twice yet, with the exception of a Protege. I did mine and a friend's Protege.

Unless you count the Maxima and an I30. Or a Tribute and an Escape.

Overall, trucks and SUVs are around 50% of what I do, with Suburbans and Escalades being the top SUVs and Chevy trucks the top truck line, followed closely by Ford F-250s. Cars? Mercedes would be number one, followed by BMW and Lexus. I find I do a lot more import sedans than domestics. I think in more than 11 years full time, I can count on two hands the number of Taurus's I have detailed, while I have probably detailed at least 10 times as many Accords, for example. If I remember right, I have only done one Malibu and never a new Impala but I've done a lot of Camrys and Maximas. GM sedans are way at the bottom.

Volvo V70 wagon. Around here, the soccer moms just eat em up. Nice cars too, pretty easy to clean overall.

That and Subarus, which I hate with a passion. Getting dirt/stains/etc out of Subaru carpet is like getting blood from a stone.

I've only been going on a full time basis since May but so far 911s are leading the field - two 996 turbos, one 996 turbo cab and a 997 C2S.

My boss takes his Corvette to a place near work that I pass on my way in; they always have more than one BMW out front.

I have to say I'm getting a reputation for black vehicles :wall . I'm just part time but most of what I detail is usually black, and quite a few are BMW's.

Mercedes E-Class, black and silver. . . almost one a week all summer!

Expedition and the Yukon/Denali are my most detailed SUV's

Same here. Lots of black vehicles. I even have a customer who got their Escalade in black because I take care of their cars. I guess it is a compliment but I would have preferred they got a different color. :LOLOL

I wish I could say the same. It seems like 75% of my details are on either fullsize buicks, pontiacs, or oldsmobile sedans. I've done multiple Century/Regals, and LeSabres. Pontiacs, I've done more than a few '00+ Bonnevilles, and their platform partner the 01+ Aurora.

The scary part of this though: EVERY bonneville/aurora I've detailed has rust bubbling up on the leading edge of the hood, in the EXACT same spot over the passenger headlight. All the exact same symptom, in the exact same spot. Can we say manufacturing process defect?

I've seen it on vehicles from a 2000, all the way up to a 2003. The '03 isn't bad -- yet. I've already told the owner though, that there's absolutely nothing we can do to prevent it from spreading. Primarilly because its a problem with the physical metal of the hood, not the film build of the paint. Best bet is to pay the inordinate ammount for a replacement hood :wall

Probably doesn't help that you are in Michigan. As someone who has owned a 1971 Chevelle, 1974 Z/28 and a 1977 Cutlass Supreme Brougham (swapped a 455 into it), I am really dismayed at GM's march towards rental car blandness.
