Carpet Shampoo

What is your favorite carpet shampoo and why?

Does an extractor remove the necessity of a shampoo?

Could you use regular carpet shampoo's on cars without any problems?

I am going to save up for an extractor and a steamer but they are real expensive heh but Id rather save for a good one than buy a cheapo.

LGCM means the Little Green Cleaning Machine from Bissell?

That thing is soo cheap i figured it didnt work that good but all I hear it great results from it. Currently im using my Sister's $600 Dollar Carpet Cleaning Vacum but I just bring it Ouside and use attachments. Its got brushes the spin as you eiher ly down or suck up the liquid, it a very nice machine.

you guys who use woolite, what ratio with water do you use to clean the carpets? And how are you guys applying it, with a scrub brush and scrubing till its clean, then rinsing with warm water then using a shop vac and sucking up all the excess water?

For regular woolite, I use it 10:1 at the most because it tends to foam and hide defects/stains which turn up later during the drying process. For high efficiency, I use it 20:1 on light jobs and 15:1 on heavier jobs with great results.
