Caring for flat black wheels(?)

Anyone know the best way to keep them clean/protected (outside of the obvious; clean them all the time). I was considering getting the poorboys wheel wax, but will that not create a shine? I like my wheels flat/satin

Pretty much the only way to care for a matte painted finish is to just use soap and water and keep it clean. There is not much you can do to protect it and keep the matte finish.

As you have already alluded to, the most obvious answer is likely your best bet. However, michelin Brake Dust Repellent may help to reduce the accumulation between washings. I've never used it on matte surfaces but haven't noticed it to impart any look of its own.
