car wax stain on upholstery

NattyBumppo

Strange name, ain't it?
In my efforts to fully detail my 2001 F150 I ended up making a bit of a mess. While waxing the door jambs and rocker panel I spilled some liquid wax (found a use for the small bottle of Mothers Cleaner Wax that comes in the clay bar kit) on the drivers seat....and didn't know it until after it dried and set in. I tried brushing and rubbing with just plain soap and water but the white wax stain is still in the threads of the upholstery.

Anyone have suggestions for removing this?

Thanks.

What are the seats made of? cloth or Leather?

Check the articles section and interior cleaning and their is an article on cleaning up different types of stuff.....see if that helps.

Oops, I guess giving the upholtery type would help :D . The seats are the 60/40 cloth bench seats that come in the Sport package on the F150. They have sort of a loose weave to them.

I've heard of using peanut butter on exterior trim but can't imagine using it on upholstery  . I would think it would make even a greater mess?

I'll check the articles. Thanks.

I don't have a team vac but would be more than willing to go rent one for the day if you think that'll work.

Anyone ever try Resolve?

Well the stain is gone! I'm almost ashamed to say this but....I used a $3.00 can of Prestone Interior Cleaner from Wal-Mart. It sprays out as a foam. Let it sit a minute, scrub it using the built in plastic brush and wiped it down with a wet/warm MF towel. Took about 5 minutes.

Thanks for your suggestions and avice.
