Car sit for 1 year in body shop and want to have a full detail, need help, first time PC user

So I have an silver 350z that was sitting in the body shop for a year, and dust and dirt are all over the car. After I got the car back, I went to a coin wash, just to wash off the dirt, and discover there are lot of swirls and scratch.
So I now want to detail the whole car.
I am trying to do a paint correction. And here is my shopping list:

1. Porter Cable 7424XP x 1
2. Orange 6.5" CCS pad x 1
3. White 6.5" CCS pad x 2
4. Green 6.5 CCS pad x 1
5. Black 6.5 CCS pad x 1
6. Optimum Compound II (32oz)
7. Optimum Car Polish II (32oz)

Do you guy think this is enough to do the job since this will be my first time using PC.

Have you gone back to the Body Shop and asked them to correct all their things they did wrong to your vehicle???
This way, they are responsible if something else turns up or goes bad...

Actually is not their problem since the car is 11 years old, and never get polish or paint correction before. Only clay and wax have been done twice per year. And previous owner obviously didn't take care it. This year I bought another car, so I can take my time to work on this car.
 
Your backing plate and pads need to be for the next size smaller pads - 5"...
You are going to need way more pads than the number you listed..
Your choice of machine is not known for a lot of pad rotation which is what corrects the paint fastest and best..
You not having any experience with this can be a challenge...
How comfortable are you with doing this with no experience?
I have used the Optimum line of products for a few years, and have had great success with their Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish, which are really great on a Rotary..
I have never used their older products that you mentioned..
Is this vehicle a Repaint ?

The PC 7424XP that i am buying come with 5" backing plate, however, the kit only available with 6.5" CCS pads. Is 6.5" wont be able to do the job like too big?
And i am pretty comfortable of doing it, plus PC isnt very hard to mess up?
And yes, couple of the panel have been repainted.
So what is your suggestions?
 
I'd go with a Griots v3, Its more powerful and just as user friendly. And personally I think youll have better success with megs DA mf correction set up! Also sitting for a year at a shop, Iron X after washing will make life so much easier on claying!

You definitely want 5.5" X 7/8" pads for the PC. I would build my own "kit" or call AG and see what they can put together. You will need more pads than you think. I would want at least 6 orange and 6 white but that may be excessive for some. Check out the Hydrotech line as well. They are nice pads and easy to organize.

Joe speaks from years of experience and he is an awesome Detailer, here in California... His advise is absolutely spot on... Listen to him...

I cant speak for the microfiber because I have not used it or the system of microfiber pads and a D/A...

You speak of a 5" backing plate that comes with the PC - I would not recommend using any backing plate that comes with this Porter Cable, that is used for Sanding.. You would want to get a real Detailing Backing Plate from this website or another...
You mentioned the backing plate is 5" - well for sure you dont want a pad on there that is 6.5" - the pad is too big...

I mentioned pad rotation is important - there will be more rotation with a smaller diameter backing plate and pad than a bigger combination... You really want as much pad rotation as possible..

Your car is a small sports car.. It has smaller panels than a normal sized car.. The 5" pads would be more suitable for this size car and can be used on bigger cars as well..
A bigger pad uses more product and is harder to handle on any tool you choose..

It would be good if you can practice on something before you start on your vehicle...
Are you watching Youtube videos ? There might be - well there will be as many ways to use the tool as the videos out there...

You will need to figure out what process works best for you.. Pretty much everyone is different in the way they use the tools and how long or short it takes to get the paintwork to a level that is probably different for each person...

For example, many people think the swirled, spiderwebbed paint on their black Mercedes S500 is supposed to look like that because thats how it came back from the Dealership. And the sad part is that they are ok with it looking like that...

There are so many variables it is not easy to say this or that is the best way, because none of us has seen your paintwork, and know your skillset and knowledge of Detailing..
