Car Detailing For Dummies thread ???

Is there a FAQ thread for newbies on all the basic questions I and other newcomers to this site have been asking? If there isn't, maybe there should be?

I'm talking about a thread or page that answers all the basics: step-by-step what needs to be done, what products you need at the minimum, what products you need to do it professionally, "must haves" and "must avoids", hand detailing vs. machine vs. paying a pro, etc.

You guys have been great answering the questions. I'm just wondering if a one-click answer to someone coming here fresh with no idea at all (like yours truly) might be better for that person and save all of you time.
