can't wash off flat tire sealent that squirted onto rim

Anyone ever get flat tire sealant on their rim?

that stuff leave a sticky film that picks up dirt and is nearly impossible to wash off :(

I've tried washing it off to no avail.:confused:



And I don't want to use steel wool or anything that will ruin the finish.

Hoping maybe the pros here might have encountered this before

if you have any idea, please comment

What have you tried washing it off with?

Have you tried a good strong APC?



On a side note, thats the strangest thread title ive seen in a while :D

What exactly does APC stand for?

only thing that comes to mind is "armored personal carrier", lol :D



so far just off the shelf car wash soaps and Simple Green.



someone had suggested to me to "try straight isopropyl or some denatured alcohol"

I'll probably try the alcohol next.



I do remember someone telling year ago, that wd40 was good for tar like stains,

I guess I can take the wheel off the car and try soaking the face with some wd40, as the stuff is dried on like cement now (tough the layer is super thin)

All purpose cleaner. (you were close :D )



Something like Meguiars APC, Simple Green, etc.



Alcohol might work. Another idea might be to try a plastic razor blade to scrape it off, if it really is that hard.



Be careful with the WD40. Im not sure how it might affect the finish on your wheels.

ok if anyone else ever has the same problem

off the shelf drug store rubbing alcohol will work :xyxthumbs

(straight isopropyl or denatured alcohol would be even more powerful and might be overkill, unless you have a more stubbon stain)
