Canadian sources for clear bras?

Anyone have any info on where this is available? Is there a qualified technician for this up here, or is it easy enough to do that I should bite the bullet and mail order it and apply it myself. I am thinking of doing this in a month or two when we get a new car.

There is a place in Victoria that does it. I can't remember the name. I'm sure that some of the dealers may know. Perhaps phone up the parts dept. at MCL motors or Weissach since they deal with high end cars like Porsche? This is one thing I will get for the front bumper for sure next time I get a sports car. The amount of rock chips in my Z is dismaying.

I think some tint shops can also do this job? There's also a 3M tint/film/signage shop on Clark Drive and I'm sure they probably install the 3M clear bras too.

Busy test driving cars. Drove the 2004 WRX this past Saturday.

And how was it? Wouldn't mind test driving one myself, but I'd want to try out the STi. That Lance Armstrong Subaru commercial makes me want to "tear the wind in half"!

I really, really, liked it. There was an STI there also. I am not sure they would not let me test drive it, as they had 6 on the lot, and 5 were sold. They are selling them as fast as they can get them in! This was Richmond Subaru.

The WRX is an amazing car. Tonnes of torque. My wife took a turn in 3rd gear at low speeds and stomped on it, and it took off. I have not ever owned a car that was this much fun...but then, I have never owned a sports car either! :D Still can't stop grinning every time I think about it.

However, the final decision is up to her, as it will be her car. She is a little concerned about the sticker price. She also drove a Mazda Protege 5 and also like that...and of course, the much lower sticker price.

I am trying to brainwash her......

Drooooool..... Sounds like a fun ride that WRX. Probably quite a bit of difference between that and a simple Protege 5 (a lot less power, less handling). Just try to convince her that you need something as fun as your bikes. :D

Tell her that extra hp/torque is an important "safety feature" when you need that oomph to pass someone and get into the other lane!

Oh, don't worry, she is getting little hints about it every hour or so. :) But you know how women are....she is asking everyone she knows for their opinion. I am applying the pressure though....I told her that if we don't put a deposit down soon, we won't get one this year, as it takes 4 - 6 weeks to get one if they don't have the colour we want (probably going to be white now).

Gary,

Many dealers now offer the service as well. Try and get the Subaru dealer to through it in free of charge. I was able to get Acura through the 1/4 hood free of charge.

I found a source here in Vancouver from the I-Club. The guy has a Impreza club price of $189 for the hood, fenders, and mirrors. It's the Xpel kit.

Oh, yeah, that's the installed price. Excellent deal!:up

He has rolls of the raw stuff, and has a computer cut the pattern. I am pretty sure that he can do anything on http://www.xpel.com

In fact, his stuff is the Xpel stuff. Through the I-club, the deal is $190 CDN + taxes installed, at your home, if you want, for the hood, fender, and mirrors kit. It's about $150 US for the kit or something from Xpel.

You can call him up and check.

His name is Les Varnai and his cell is 604-812-9259. Sounds like a really nice guy. However, I don't know that he discounts other kits, as this was a GB.

BTW, this is a business. He installs electronics for dealers, but does this on the side, so this is not some fly-by-night operation.

Just got the work done today. Les does awesome work. Looks fantastic. No problems, and fast...the install took just under an hour and we were jawing the whole time.:up
