This is very smooth on my car, I have tried polishing a few times with different polishers to no avail. Could someone let me know what this is and how to get rid of it.

Thanks

Bird poop is highly acidic and will etch paintwork. Birds also ingest small bits of sand to assist in their digestion, so not only does bird poop etch, it can scratch paint if removed improperly.

I keep microfiber toweling and a bottle of QD in each vehicle for quick removal of avaian deposits.

I just went through this on a BMW....luckily I got the car within 1 hour of the dropping...here is what I did on the already clean car

get out the QD and blot it up/off

you will be left with the etching in the paint

then get the clay and see where you get with that (may pick up some more out from the pores of the paint)

then get out a compound/glaze combo and an aggressive pad and give it two coats....

I spent about 20 minutes on one spot between QD, clay, polish, clay, polish, sealant it was that bad...and in such little time!!!

Bird bomb etching-

Just a heads up, you should post this in the main detailing forum, you will get a lot more responses there.

An OTC product like ScratchX can work wonders on minor bird bomb etching. Use a clean MF towel and some elbow grease and that should take care of it. If not, you need to use either a stronger polish or it could just be deep enough you cannot remove it completely.

Etchings like this that go all the way into the primer will not come out, only a repaint will work.
