My process is:

wash > clay > Wash> SSR 2.5 > PO85RD > RMG > PB's EX > Pure Carnauba Wax

Will PB's EX remove oils and glaze from the RMG?

Is there there anything (sealant) more durable than EX that will work over RMG (.e. not remove it.)

Thanx,

How much longer cani expect EX-P to last over just EX?

Is the carnauba look with EX very noticeable compared to EX-P? thanx again

With durability it's hard to say. I say most likely a month. I have some EX-P, but have not used it yet. EX is better used on dark colored vehicles, EX-P on lighter. I have a white X, but EX looks pretty nice to me. Mostly with EX you will get a deeper/darker/warmer look, with EX-P more shine/glossy look.

EX and EX-P can both be layered, so they don't won't remove anything below it. I agree with John, and would use EX for darker colors and EX-P for lighter colors. In my experience with the two EX-P seemed to last a little longer, but I was also applying it way thinner then EX. I just got some new EX so i'm hoping it lasts a tad longer. Either route you should be fine, I don't think theres a big difference in durability between the two.

Also one other thing. If it were my car i'd skip the RMG and go straight to the sealant after the PO85RD. I'm not sure if the RMG would really add much if anything to the look and with the POs having the highest gloss level from Menzerna, I wouldn't want to hinder it, but thats JMO.

Thanx for the great advice Johns x 2,

The reason i opted for the RMG is because i asked a little while back will RMG *really* make a difference on Black. I have a black car and the replies were in favor of using the RMG.

But then again, they didn't know that i'd be using the PO85RD in the process.

Johnny you brought up a good thing to take into consideration.

does anyone with experience know if RMG after PO85RD will somewaht mute the shine or depth of PO85Rd or any similar probs.???

thanx guys

RMG is RED MOOSe Machine Glaze made by Clearkoteâ„¢.

Menzernaâ„¢ is a german company that makes a new polish for the new ceramic clear coats called PO85RD (that's the actual name of the polish) it is reknown for its incredible ability to produce a mirror like perfect finish with superior gloss.

there was an acronym link I had for all the autopia acronyms, but my internet is no longer displaying it.

Hope it helps.

Can anyone answer my question two posts up please...

Lastly, can Collinite #845 insulator wax be used on top of Poorboy's EX sealant?

I'm really not sure if you'll benefit from the added RMG step. I know I did read a while back someone with a black truck saying they definately noticed a deeper darker black after using RMG on top of SSR1. I also have a black car and plan on stripping my SSR2.5/EX-P in a month and using PO85RD/EX, hopefully that will create the perfect shine i'm looking for. I guess if your really undecided after you polish with PO85RD, do half the hood with RMG and compare it to the other side. If you see a difference and like it then continue if no difference then repolish the RMG with the PO85RD and go to your sealant.

According to this thread... http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=52593

845 doesn't have cleaners, i'm sure this was discuessed before but the search doesn't work and i'm really not familiar with the Collinite waxes.

Hope this helps :)

Thanx john for the clear up. Thanx wannafbody

this is abit off topic but i need to know this.

Is a 16 oz. bottle of of SSR 2.5 enough to do one sedan ( eg. camry) with alot of spider webbing???

thanx again.

It should be enough to do 3 or 4.

RMG added a very very slight look ontop of my black hood after i FP2 it. Im not even sure it was an improvement, but it looked slightly deeper maybe.

Not worth the ectra step if your black is in tip top shape.

You want results break out the #7.

#7 and CMW....what dreams are made of.

Thanx,

EX w/carnauba did not show any color transfer on a black single stage Lexus I did this weekend (after polishing, of course) so it shouldn't do anything more than deepen the look of RMG.

EX w/carnauba has been very durable for me. 4+ months in the Dallas area.

#7 and RMG leave a pretty similar look to me and RMG is a lot easier to use!

BTW, CMW is even better applied with a PC and finishing pad vs by hand. ;)

I have just gone back to EX with Carnuba over RMG on my black car after having a play with Wolfgang. So far results look good.

Yeah Canuba Moose Wax. Scott should be able to awnser the durabilty question, my garage queen dont count! All I know is it looks good.
