Can Meguiar's #21 be layered?

I've got a bottle of Meguiar's #21 sealant and was wondering if it could be layered or not.

I'm thinking that in the late fall, I should put a couple coats of wax to protect the paint from the winter.

I think two layers would be the way to go. Anything more is a waste, really.

What I would do is, apply one coat one day by hand OR machine, and the next day after the first coat has fully cured, gently and lightly apply a second coat by hand.

I don't know if the product is actually layering on top of itself.... but i like to do a second coat after a dozen hours or so just to be certain I haven't missed any spots.

I always do two coats back to back to ensure that there is even coverage then additional coats as I see fit. Generally wait 24 hours between coats but to the OPs original question yes you can layer it.

if you are waiting 12-24 hours between coats, do you re-wash or QD the car or just put more wax on and go?

what is the risk for dust and light marring?

I QD the car or use poorboys spray and wipe. There is always a possibility for light marring but that doesnt concern me, its a daily driver and I cannot obsess over it like I used to.

A little of both. Using a pure paste with a low solvent content would be the best way; spit shining has been believed to be even better. Liquids generally always have more cleaners/solvents than pastes, but #21 is layerable to an extent IMO.

So back to back coats can be applied and then allow to cure for 24 hours and then apply a third coat?

Are you sure?

Every MSDS I've seen indicated the paste version of a wax contains more petroleum solvents than the liquid version. The main 'solvent' in liquid waxes is water.
