Can I use these?

I put together my shopping list and I thought I would get some MF towels for buffing off excess after buffing. I already own some turtle wax MF towels. They seem nice and I have never had a problem with them before. Should I upgrade to the Viper ones or are the ones I have just fine? I want to eliminate the unnecessary items from the shopping list.

The viper towels are nice but I was not too impressed by them as they are not that plush and they lint on windows.

You can probably stick with the Turtle Wax MF towels but I have never used them before.

I actually prefer 100% cotton towels for buffing off residue.

I currently have mostly TW MFs myself and think they're pretty good. 2wheelsx2 showed me some of his JT International towels, and while they seem of slightly higher quality or uniformity, I think plushness is almost the same. I've seen many semi-close photos of the more popular towels used here, and I think the TW MFs look just as plush. Very little linting, CD safe, and locally available too.

I'd get more of these if I could (right now anyway). Try to find the 16x16 stock because I have the suspicion that they're replacing them with 12x16 stock, at least up here anyway...

Oh yeah, and I remember researching the Vipers at one point, and I think they are the thin, short napped type, like Intel said.

Virtually all MF towels, ragardless of plushness, leave lint on windows. There are some specific MF towels made for glass that are better for glass and leave less lint. (Gold in color) I like these a lot. CMA carries them.

Viper towels are fine, above average in quality. Not the best, but better than most.

I am a strong proponent of MF towels for polishing wax and MF waffleweave towels for drying exclusively.

Brad,

You stated the following:

Viper towels are fine, above average in quality. Not the best, but better than most.

Can you or someone else tell me, of all the MFT's available today (forget cost for now), which MF towel is considered the creme-de-la-creme?

That is a very subjective question you are asking there. There are a lot of MF towels that work very well for a lot of different purposes. To ask which one is the very best is like asking which wax is the very best. Its just way to subjective to what you are using it for to give a good answer on that. :nixweiss

I've noticed that even good quality towels that I have leave some lint on windows. It's only visible under certain light but absolutely driving me crazy.

Tom from JT International suggested that I try waffleweave on the windows since it has the fibers more tightly knit and they shouldn't come apart that easily.

I don't have any experience with waffleweave so I'm curious what do you guys think about it?

What are suede MF towels used for? Shouldn't those work good on windows?

I own both Viper and Pak Shak products. If you are looking for a great all purpose MF, Pak Shak is a great way to go. I can't say that it's the only way, but I am thoroughly impressed with Pak Shak's products, over Viper's. However, Viper's MF Glass Cleaning Towel, Magic Towel, Power Scrubber Cloths and MF applicators are great too. I'm still waiting (anxiously) for Ranney aka Pak Shak to come out with some specialized MF products of his own (hint hint). ;)
