I found the California Water Blade at Auto Zone for 9.99. I don't know if everyone is beginnig to sell them for 1/2 off but I figured what the hell i'll try one for that price.

i've heard horror stories about the cali water blade. :nixweiss

any reason other than speed drying? seems like "scratch city" waiting to happen?

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

Water Blade:

These are manufactured from medical-grade inert silicone and will remove water from surfaces in about a third of the time it takes to use chamois leather. The edge applies fifteen times less friction to the surface than a terry cloth towel and will not scratch any surface that it’s used on.

Wipe the blade with a clean damp cloth, using light to medium pressure use long strokes in one direction only, wipe the blade with a clean damp cloth after each pass to ensure removal of any abrasive dirt that may be caught on the blade. Using a water blade and a waffle weave Microfiber towel will dry glass surfaces quickly and efficiently leaving no water spots.

~Hope this helps~

A lot of people are against using a water blade, but it’s very good.

IMO the best way to use one is to "bead" the water rather than sheeting, We all know the little trick about taking the end of the hose and letting it sheet, but next time anyone is going to use a water blade, spray the car with a fine mist, let it bead get plenty of water on there then try a water blade, If there is any dirt particulars left on the car this will “ride the water, rather than using it when the water has sheeted, try it you wont be disappointed.

Keep the blade wet and clean, dip it into a bucket of clean water every so often, wipe with a damp cloth, I wipe the blade with a MF towel after each pass, and try to pass an area only once, the WW towel will finish off any water traces left behind.

Using the above method I have cut my drying time in half.

If anyone else using a water blade uses a different method, Post it, So that we can all keep our cars swirl free, and detailed to perfection.

I think that there are MORE than enough "I love - I hate" CWB threads.

The thread was about cheap CWB at Autozone......

Nice and cheap, go for it. I use it on my paint and it's safe, just wipe the blade down.

You dry windows in the matter of seconds with that thing.

sorry guys, didn't mean to hijack the thread. i was just posting my thoughts on the CWB. thanks for the info. PK1! good stuff...i may give the CWB a whirl.
