Calais Detailing: Concours Classic BMW

Here is the creme d'le creme of my detailing career (so far): a 1972 BMW two door sedan. Its a concours car, one of the top 3 in the northeast, and a fully restored masterpiece. The owner wanted me to detail it for this concours: Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance - Welcome. The car is worth more than my life and remains in storage for most of the year, it was an honor to work on. I washed with Gold Class, used aluminum wheel cleaner on the wheels, Westley's Bleche-Wite on the tires, Meg's Aloe Leather Conditioner on the interior, QID, UQW on the windows, M205/finishing pad on the G110 to attain ~85% correction and topped with Pinnacle Souveran and M40 on the tires. Here are the pics:

Thanks for looking!

BTW- Sorry about picture quality, I didn't think to borrow a camera and had to use my phone. I'm kicking myself for not snapping a pic of the engine, I will be sure to at the Concours as I'm going with the owner.

I know its no Ferrari or Bentley, but its one of the top restored '70's BMW's in the US, top three in the Northeastern Concours circuit. Just wanted to bump this in case anyone who cares missed it...

It is certainly a classic car, as much a classic to today's BMW owner as a '69 Camaro is to today's Camaro owner.

I like the color combo, and I can't wait to see photos from the concours.

Thanks for sharing!
