C6 Corvette correction.

Great Job, night and day difference. It may be a dumb question but what causes the pugtails as I have seen that on a number of cars?

The build up of material (either the sanded material or a piece of dirt) that attaches to the sanding disk and gouges into the paint.

I had to refinish a Corvette (with Z06 editions) years ago and the bodyshop accused me of lying and doctoring photos to make their work look bad. The manager and I got into an argument, to the point I drove down there and showed them 4 cars that they had just completed and the terrible finishes on them. He said that was how they were supposed to look.

I would of loved to be a fly on the wall for that convo.

I would also like to add there is no such thing as a dumb question, especially here. We all are beginners at one time or another, and we all have to learn something the first time. Lord knows there is quite a lot I don't know. There have been many instances where I have felt like I was asking a dumb question, but they were all answered professionally and I am smarter because of it.
