Buying Pads by manufacturer?

I have been looking into buying pads for a PC7424 , I am getting feedback form a friend that the new Lake Country CCS pads have a habit of separating the Velcro backing from the pad when used on a PC 7424 type orbital buffer.

1. What does the manufacturer have to say about this?

Also, what type of guarantee?

Speculation doesn't count to wards anything.

2. Does anyone really sell the lake Country pads (LC), or is it just distributed out to the different merchants? If this is the case are they all the same or is it the merchant that dictates the quality of the LC pads?

If you want to avoid speculation why don't you contact LC directly?

Lake Country Manufacturing Inc.

From that link of contact names Eric Dunn is the one I have seen respond to quality issues in the past. From what I remember he was always willing to answer questions and resolve problems.

I talked to Eric about this issue. Right now there is a problem with the CCS Variable contact pads separating with the PC's due to the pressure applied. The CCS VC work great with the rotary though. The CCS flat pads do not have this problem.

John, I heard back from Lake Country today, a guy called Eric. He said he was no longer a member of Autopia.

However, he said that in over 2000 sales of the ccs pads they had only about 3 complaints on the backing problem. Also evidently these complaints have been recognized with the latest release of pads and that Autogeek was carrying these pads.

These weren't the "exact " words but close enough to be correct!

I would just go the extra yard and avoid washing any hook and loop pads in the washing machine. Also, keep the PC speed below 6. I know, I know... there are a lot of members here that run their PC at 6, but I am talking about minimizing wear. Too much heat at setting 6, can cause premature failure to the BP and the pad.
