buying an electric powerwasher

Hey all..i'm looking at buying an electric power washer..its the Cambell Hausfeld PW152000AV powerwasher but i have a couple of questions

I know its an electric powerwasher..but do i have to have an air compressor?

It comes with a soap bottle, high pressure hose, 2 lances, and a spray gun..so i wouldn't need to buy a different foam lance right?

Can i just plug it into an extension cord? Or would I have to get a converter?

And I'm assuming 1550 PSI is enough right?

Never used an Electric Power Washer. I was a welder for 25 plus years. I have had my share of shocks from electric. Wet gloves, sweaty shirts, bad grounds, getting shocked sucks Big Time. So in my mind water and electric just don't go together. Just buy a gas one!

+1 for gas. It's a pain dealing with electrical cords too. I use to have an electric, and ended up foing to Lowe's and bought a Troy Built gas pressure washer, with a 5.5hp Honda engine for like $240.

I went to Costco and got their Kärcher electric. Works fine for me since I only have a one-car garage and I'd rather not make space for a gas model. Plus, gas pressure washers are way too loud for me to use in my condo community. If I need a gas model (to wash concrete and whatnot), I can borrow my friend's. Electric models seem to have a rather high failure rate due to cheap construction, it seems, but that's what the Costco return policy is for.

Yup my Karscher from 2007 took a crapshoot on me and I returned it last week and bought a new one :) Love their return policy!

so i will NOT need an air compressor for an electric model? gas would be just too much of a hassle for me

You will *not* need an air compressor for either one. They require nothing more than a place to plug them in and a water source.
